Polo remains the rich man’s game. To the untrained eye, it looks like a blend of hockey and golf played by people on horseback. Polo was named the sport of kings because it was only royals and their courtiers who played it in ancient Iran where it started. Over the years, the British popularised it worldwide and then Argentineans mastered its game.

Never ridden before? Or perhaps you want to wind up and escape from urban bustle? We can teach you how to ride from scratch in a unique and exclusive environment.

Polo is the fastest team sport in the world and has no parallel in adrenaline and excitement. You may find yourself drawn to the speed and challenge of polo or to the experience of combining your passion for horses with a team sport.  

Our polo ponies are impeccably trained and extremely obedient. They know their job and they do it well. They have an innate ability to know when it’s a beginner on their back and take extra good care of them. And they often know where the ball is better than our beginners!

Don't stress if you've never even touched a horse before. We’ll teach you front from back and hoof from head, along with many other valuable basic horse skills before we start working on your polo skills. By the end of your first day, we promise that you’ll be confidently sitting on horseback with a mallet in hand.

The school isn’t just designed for complete newbies to the sport, we also offer special ‘brushing up’ sessions for low goal players to help you, so come and join our Chukkers in any of our seven polo grounds.

For newbies arena polo is also a much more beginner friendly place to start before hitting the field. Less time is spent chasing other players on the field allowing you to refine your skills and technique, hooking mallets and forcing your opponent out of the way to gain possession of the ball.
